Chandigarh: The Banur-Tepla Road (NH 205A) is fast emerging as a new hub for investors with Mohali Industrial Economic Zone (MIEZ) adding enormous value to the entire stretch. The road has come into prominence as it is being used by highway travellers between Delhi and Manali and vice versa.

Banur-Tepla road is also getting huge routine traffic flow as the route is frequently used by the people of Chandigarh's capital region comprising Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula for to and fro travel. As a result of the strategic location of the road a variety of industries are setting up their units on it. The high-end quality of the road and its logistics edge have attracted the attention of the ambitious Mohali Industries Economic Zone (MIEZ) project being developed by realty company Royale Estate Group (REG).

MIEZ is the region’s first-of-its-kind state-of-the-art industrial facility, being developed on Banur Tepla Road on 100-plus acres of land. Neeraj Kansal, MD, REG said, "The MIEZ is being planned in such a manner that will make it an ideal destination for different types of industries to set up their units. While on one hand, it will have the wherewithal to house units from varied industries like pharmaceuticals, textiles, chemicals, food processing, distillery and many more, on the other, it will have an effluent treatment plant (ETP), skill development centre, R & D centre, tool and equipment room, wide roads and all civic amenities."

Dalip Sharma, Secretary General, Punjab Chamber of Commerce and Industry opined, " NH 205A, is connected well with the National Highway 1 (NH 1) that links the national capital New Delhi to the town of Atari in Punjab on the India–Pak border."

Prof Lakhwinder Singh, a professor of economics at Punjabi University Patiala added, "The stretch lies in the vicinity of the dry port at Shambhu bordering Punjab and Haryana. It is also in close proximity to Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC)."

As many as 35 warehouses have already been set up along the stretch. Some of these are Arrow, Bajaj Electronics, Havel’s India Ltd, Freuden Begonic, Nerolac Paint, Asian Paints, Marico Ltd and Whirlpool of India Ltd. A mini film city N K Studios has also come up. What's more, a manufacturing unit of Amararaja Batteries known for producing the famous Amaron Batteries has been established on the road. The road is also blessed with the world’s first Mat-Pita Mandir and Go Dham taking care of more than 400 weak, old and sick cows.

Meanwhile, many industries have committed to starting operations in MIEZ. These include Ruby Industry which manufactures steel office furniture, Gupta industry which is a supplier of all types of paper and that also manufactures cardboard boxes, Making Ways Auto Industries which manufactures tractor parts, Anirudh Engineering Solutions and Royale Agro Processing Industries among many more.

"The plan is to offer a 360-degree solution for all industrial needs. MIEZ will be the region's first Integrated Industrial Park dedicated to the MSMEs," added Piyush Kansal, a Director with REG.

Ashish Mittal, who is also a Director with REG, summed up, "The International Airport in Mohali is also close to the stretch. The next wave of economic growth of the region will be spurred by the industrial developments taking place on both sides of the Banur-Tepla road." BlogsWire
