Tannay Sanjeev Kumar: Youngest Researcher from Mumbai Sets a New Record

New Delhi: The record for being the youngest researcher to publish his research paper in a reputed journal was set by Tannay Sanjeev Kumar, who is from Mumbai, Maharashtra. His article titled ‘Optical Fiber’ was published in Asian Journal of Convergence in Technology on March 28, 2020 at the age of 14 years, 4 months and 25 days, as confirmed on January 21, 2021.

Tannay (born on November 3, 2005) says, “I like to explore new fields and therefore I started researching. Whatever I researched about, I wrote it down in my book. I got the idea to share this information in the form of research papers, therefore, I wrote research papers and published them in internationally reputed journals and also presented them in research conferences. I have been writing research papers since 2019. In that time span, I have written four internationally published research papers.”

The challenges he faced were to find credible sources that could be trusted, produce data that could be understood by people who read the research paper, to research in-depth and to find journals that are easy to find by the people who have access to the internet.

Tannay says that his friends and family members were excited and felt proud of such a great achievement. They felt being on top of the world. His parents were on cloud nine. He was amazed and it was a surprise for him that his record got selected. He felt fortunate and blissful.

He said that his research aims to discover and impart knowledge for future development. “It is really important to share your opinions and the knowledge that you acquire with the world,” he quipped.
